Our bodies are dynamic biological machines that need to move to maintain themselves.

Our bodies and minds are not separate, but function as interactive and interdependent systems. Being physically active, and doing more exercise, can have a positive effect on performance, including the ability to concentrate, improved time management, decision- making and generally enhance mood and feeling of motivation, in essence – mental wellbeing. And, mental wellbeing is about feeling good – in yourself, in your relationships with others and in the world around you.

This workshop will provide participants with the opportunity to explore their attitudes, beliefs and behaviours around being physically active, how this might impact their mental wellbeing, and ways they can overcome obstacles to them being more physically active on a daily basis.

Your people will learn:

  • To understand the link between physical activity and mental wellbeing
  • To appreciate the negative cycle that can arise when busyness gets in the way of physical activity
  • To develop strategies for overcoming obstacles that get in the way of being physically active more often
  • To evaluate their own personal strengths and challenges around their daily patterns, with a view to understanding what they need to change in their current habits and benefits they might expect from this modified behaviour
